The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 must live up to its predecessors. While we gave the Galaxy Z Fold 3 the title of 'best foldable phone' when it first came out, the bending-phone industry has gotten a lot busier since then, and if Samsung wants to keep the title, the next generation will have to really impress us. Since the Fold 3, we've seen the Oppo Find N and Honor Magic V improve the recipe with less visible screen folds and better specifications, so the Z Fold 4 will have to wow us when it launches. This is projected to be Samsung's next foldable phone, and the next member of the Fold series of smartphones that unfurl into mini-tablets, which will likely arrive alongside the Z Flip 4 in 2021 if the trend continues. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 release date and price

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 is expected to be introduced in August 2022, with a retail date somewhere in September. We say this because the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 were both announced in August of their respective release years, and both arrived in stores a few weeks later. However, we can't be sure Samsung will follow that timeline because no release date rumors have surfaced yet, especially since the original Samsung Galaxy Fold was unveiled in February 2019. Though that didn't hit shops until September as well, we'd think an announcement in August is extremely likely.

For now, we can only speculate on the price, but the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 starts at $1,799 / £1,599 / AU$2,499. That's significantly less than the previous model, and given that Samsung's foldable are frequently chastised for their high prices, we expect the Z Fold 4 will be priced similarly or slightly lower in order to avoid further criticism. Indeed, one source stated that the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will be cheaper, but did not specify by how much.

According to the most recent Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 report, the device would have a 7.56-inch primary screen and a 6.19-inch cover display, making it very similar in size to the Galaxy Z Fold 3. According to the same sources, it will contain a space for the S Pen stylus and will otherwise be identical to the Z Fold 3's design, with a focus on enhancing durability. Another source has since claimed that the phone will include a slot for the S Pen stylus, as well as stronger glass and upgraded cameras.

We've also heard that production of the S Pen stylus began in April 2022, implying that Samsung is producing a large number of them, adding to the evidence that it will come standard with the phone. According to one early leak, Samsung will include an under-display camera in the Galaxy Z Fold 4, similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 3, but this time it will be less visible beneath the screen and will apparently be able to shoot better images.

Another source suggests the phone will have two under-display snappers, one for the main display and the other for the tiny cover screen. The battery will be larger, the hinge will be redesigned to make it lighter and more dust- and waterproof, and the phone will have similar snappers to the Galaxy S22, according to this source.

However, according to a recent rumor, the Galaxy Z Fold 4's battery capacity will be the same as the Galaxy Z Fold 3. The only silver lining is that Samsung may be able to make the phone smaller or less expensive as a result of this. The phone is also expected to contain the same 10MP 3x optical zoom camera as the Galaxy S22, which would be an advance above the Z Fold 3's 12MP 2x zoom camera. There's also a possibility that the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will steal the Galaxy S22 Ultra's 108MP main camera.
