To get this weapon, you won't have to go very far into the story. This is due to the Catatumbo's status as a world drop. Items that drop from pretty much any notable loot source in the game are known as world drops. Minibosses, bosses, and chests are all good places to find loot. It also contains common adversaries, implying that you can obtain this weapon from any location. You'll have to wait till you've completed the game to farm for this weapon.
