Arma Reforger: How to switch between first person and third person

Many mechanics in Arma Reforger are difficult to learn. The game's tutorial bombards you with a lot of information in a short amount of time, and it's difficult to remember anything in your first few matches. That's why we created this instruction for something you'll be doing frequently: moving between first and third-person perspectives.

How to swap cameras

Double-click the right analog stick to switch cameras in Arma Reforger on the controller. This, however, can be set to whatever you wish. We recommend altering this button to something familiar so you can find it quickly in an emergency. After all, this game can suddenly go from a pleasant stroll over Everon's hills to a stressful gunfight with no notion of how many people are shooting at you.

There are numerous reasons to switch cameras. First-person gives you a far more immersive experience, making you feel as if you're fighting for terrain on Everon with other soldiers. Third-person, on the other hand, permits you to see things that first-person cannot. Your field of view, for example, is significantly greater, allowing you to catch foes lurking behind trees in the distance. This camera is also great for seeing behind corners or around a bend in the road to see if the coast is clear or if an ambush is lurking nearby.

Another important reason to upgrade your camera is for driving. When you're in the first person, the camera shakes a lot, and this is amplified when you're in a vehicle, even if you're driving. It's generally preferable to switch to the third person because it's less distracting. If you limit yourself to a first-person view in a car, you won't be able to enjoy the jumps you make or the other unforgettable moments you create. This would signify nothing to soldiers in the rear of a people carrier unless they felt like they were flying, rolling, or suddenly halting, followed by gunfire or some form of explanation from the driver.
