Destiny 2: How does weapon crafting work?

Following the release of The Witch Queen expansion, weapon making has been added to Destiny 2. Those who have the expansion will be able to craft while they advance through the main tale. All that remains is to unlock the Relic and use it on Mars. How does everything operate when you're free to craft? This guide explains how weapon making in Destiny 2 works and why you should dive right in.

How Weapon Crafting works

When you first start Destiny 2, you won't be able to manufacture any weapon you want. Only when you've unlocked their Pattern, which acts as their blueprint, can you begin constructing weapons? While playing the game, you can obtain a Weapon Pattern through completing quests, activities, or looting a Deepsight Resonance weapon. When you get the Deepsight Resonance, equip it and start utilizing it right away to unlock the Pattern.

After you obtain a weapon's Pattern, you must travel to the Enclave on Mars and dive into the Relic. You can interact with it down here and start building any weapon Patterns you've already mastered. You'll need Resonant Alloy, Glimmer, and Resonant Elements to make any weapon. Following the creation of the weapon's frame, you can add perks to four sockets to further identify your weapon. Resonant Alloy is required for each benefit. You won't have access to all perks for a weapon, just like you won't have access to all weapon Patterns. These can only be unlocked by using the weapon and leveling it up. To level up a weapon you've manufactured, you must use it.

You can manufacture the weapon and utilize it in Destiny 2 after you've chosen your perk options. You can return to the Relic to further customize it, changing off old bonuses for new ones you gain as you level it up.
