FIFA 22: How to Enable or Disable Crossplay

EA Sports has already begun public testing for FIFA 22's cross-play feature. Here's how to enable/disable crossplay in FIFA 22 if you want to give it a shot. Electronic Arts recently revealed that cross-play testing would begin soon in FIFA 22, a feature that is expected to be fully incorporated in FIFA 23 when it launches. Hopefully, cross-play testing began earlier today, and it is now accessible on PlayStation 5, Xbox One X, Xbox One S, and Stadia, allowing players from these platforms to play together or against one another. Keep in mind that for the time being, crossplay is only available in Seasons and Friendly modes. It's unclear whether EA Sports will make it available in other modes, such as Ultimate Team.

How to Enable/Disable Crossplay in FIFA 22

When you download and install the current game update, you'll see a new widget named Cross-Play in the bottom left corner of the screen. This widget is tied to a certain key, which in PlayStation is R2 and in Xbox is RT. You'll be able to enable or disable Cross-Play by pressing the correct button. Before starting matchmaking, both of you need to enable Cross-Play if you wish to play against your buddies on another console.

Keep in mind that FIFA 22 does not enable cross-generation play, thus players on the PS5 or Xbox Series X|S will not be able to play with or against players on the PS4 or Xbox One. FIFA 22 is currently available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox One S, Xbox One X, Xbox One X S, Nintendo Switch, Stadia, and PC.
