MLB The Show 22: How to Complete April Monthly Awards Program

It's hard to realize that baseball season has already started. That means it's time for MLB The Show to start airing the inaugural Monthly Awards show. The April issue is here, and we're here to walk you through the program and break down the benefits while covering the dos and don'ts.

How to Complete April Monthly Awards Program

Monthly Awards, for those unfamiliar with MLB The Show, is a program that celebrates notable moments throughout the season by utilizing MLB's real-life partnership with Topps trading cards. Every week, a new set of moments will be published, and at the end of the month, you'll be able to trade in all of the cards you've won in challenges for a 'Lightning' Monthly Awards player that matches the game's top cards.

This year, things are a little different. Rather than providing sets of moments and then a program at the end of the month, Sony San Diego has chosen to simply update the program as new cards become available. To get past the first stage, you'll need 17 Topps Now cards to get to stage 2. You must accomplish 25 distinct moments in order to obtain these cards, and once you have finished them all, you will have collected the first 52 program points.

It is crucial to the program that these cards not be sold. If you need Stubs, you can sell them, but if you want Monthly Awards players, you'll need to get another copy of that card. Once again, we strongly advise you not to discard these cards. Let's go into the incentives now.

Stage 2 explained

Simply go into the Program and complete the many moments that are now available to get these rewards. You can lock in the cards you've earned for extra XP once you've completed them all. You advance from the Topps Now stage to the Monthly Awards stage after collecting all 17 cards in this program collection. You'll get 87 OVR Topps Now Seiya Suzuki during this stage. Finishing the collection will also get you 40 program points.

You now have 92 total program points. You can choose from eleven different Moments on Stage 2, bringing your total points to 125. Collect Parallel XP for all of the Monthly Awards players you unlocked by completing the Topps Now Collection to advance the rest of the program. Stage 3 explained

Stage 3 will become available if you have earned 125 program points and have collected 5 Monthly Awards Players. To get Rizzo and complete the program, you must grind Parallel XP with the players from the choice packs once more. Stage 3 is basically cleaning up to acquire the remaining cards in the choice packs that you missed the first time around.

Keep in mind to take your time. The Monthly Award Program will continue. However, if you lock in Rizzo to Collections before the Spring Cleanup Program expires, you will receive a 10,000 XP incentive.
