Minecraft: What does Smite do and how to get it

You will almost certainly come upon an enchantment called Smite while exploring your Minecraft environment. This is one of the more common enchantments found already linked to specific goods in the game. Even if you already have a book or item with Smite, you should probably know what it does so you don't waste it. Here's how to get Smite in Minecraft and what it does.

Smite is a one-of-a-kind enchantment that can only be applied to a sword or an axe. When one of these items is equipped with it, undead enemies such as Zombies, Skeletons, Phantoms, Drowned, and others will take more damage. In Minecraft, there are five levels of Smite, each of which deals an additional two and a half hearts of damage to the undead. Smite cannot be used with a sword or axe that has the enchantments Bane of Arthropods, Sharpening, or Cleaving.

Now that you know that artifacts containing Smite cause the undead to return to their original location, how do you go about collecting them? Unfortunately, it will require a little luck, just like other enchantments in Minecraft. Fishing using the Luck of the Sea enchantment is our preferred method for obtaining enchantments. Continue fishing in the hopes of getting better rewards as you draw objects in. Smite-enabled swords or axes can also be found in the wild, albeit they are usually of a lesser level.

Aside from that, you can level up by collecting experience orbs and using an Enchantment Table to gain Smite. When you utilize this strategy, though, you won't know exactly what enchantment you're paying for. Using an enchantment book is the only method to be sure you're putting Smite on something.
