In Sniper Elite 5, developer Rebellion has reimagined how weapon upgrades are distributed. The ballistic model for all weapons, not just the sniper rifles, has been revised in this new version. Rather than just leveling a weapon, machine guns and handguns can trigger the x-ray kill cams and unlock secrets gained using secrets. Finding a workbench

Workbenches are the most important improvements to find, and a golden gear icon will display on the map when you get close to one. To unlock various weapon parts and upgrades, look for them before exiting a mission. Weapons can be unlocked by progressing through the plot and achieving hit list secret objectives.
