After millions of users pleaded for its return, everyone's favorite Taco Bell pizza is back. Last month, the franchise announced the comeback of its Mexican Pizza via social media. It is expected to return to the restaurant menu on May 19. Some fans, though, may be able to have first dibs on the item.

One of the fast-food joint's most famous dishes was the Mexican Pizza. Pizza sauce, beans, seasoned meat, tomatoes, and a melted three-cheese blend are sandwiched between two tortilla sheets. Taco Bell, on the other hand, discontinued the item in November 2020 in order to provide a speedier, more consistent restaurant menu and experience. Its removal from the chain's menu cards sparked outrage on social media, with many fans tagging and requesting that the item be reinstated.

There was also a petition with 200k signatures calling for its return. The pleas and messages appear to have been successful, since the item will return on Thursday, May 19. The deal is even sweeter for Taco Bell app loyalty members, who can get early access to the pizza starting May 17. All customers have to do is order in-store or drive-thru orders at participating locations using the mobile app. On May 19, members who got a mystery prize during Super Bowl LVI will be entered to win a free Mexican pizza.

Dolly Parton will feature in the musical adaptation of Mexican Pizza. On Thursday, May 26 at 8 p.m. EST, TikTok will stream the upcoming satirical musical about the renowned pizza. A week ago, the fast-food company posted a playbill for the musical on their Instagram account. Parton also made a social media post about the musical, which included a screenplay.

The singer previously expressed her fondness for the menu item in a January interview in which she discussed her favorite fast food. She stated that she used to enjoy Taco Bell's Mexican Pizza and that "they should" bring it back.
