Sea of Thieves: How to update on PC

Sea of Thieves, like many other games available today, is a title that you'll want to keep up to date at all times. You won't be able to play if you're using an older version of the game, and if you do, it'll be severely damaged. While some people prefer to have their games updated automatically, others prefer to have control over when and when their downloads occur. Here's how to update Sea of Thieves on PC manually.

How to update Sea of Thieves on PC

You can get the Beigebeard or Lightbeigebeard error codes if you have automatic updates switched off or if you get into a bug where the game isn't taking care of it automatically. Make sure the game isn't running in the background and that you've completely exited it. You'll need to launch the Microsoft Store application. Open the store page for Sea of Thieves by searching for it. If the shop detects an earlier version of the game on your computer, it should begin updating it automatically.

If the above fails, press the Windows key or use the search bar in the bottom left corner of your screen. Press Enter after typing wsreset. This will force the Windows Store program to restart and return you to the home page. It should update if you search for and reopen the Sea of Thieves page.

If none of the preceding methods have worked, go to the Windows Store page's bottom-left corner and click on Library. A Get Updates button will appear in the top right corner of the following screen. When you press it, every Windows Store program in your library will automatically look for and install updates. If you're still having problems, restart your computer and try the three instructions above again. If nothing seems to be working, we recommend contacting the Sea of Thieves Support team.
