V Rising: How to unlock Rat Form

In its open universe, V Rising offers a variety of approaches to approach difficulties. While your weapons will get you through most hurdles, you also have some more specialized tools in the form of animal transformations at your disposal. If you're low on explosives, Wolf Form is quick and nimble, Bear Form can remove massive obstructions, and Bat Form allows you to easily reach the higher territory. However, if you want to be more stealthy, the Rat form is your best friend.

How to summon the Putrid Rat

Rat Form is unlocked by collecting V Blood from a powerful boss, just like the other forms in V Rising. However, unlike the other forms, the Putrid Rat, the V Blood carrier you require, cannot be traced at the Blood Altar. This is because you utilize a Vermin Nest to lure the Putrid Rat into your mansion rather than hunting it.

Because this recipe includes fishing, you'll need the Woodworking Bench unlocked in addition to a Vermin Nest. A Twilight Snapper, three Fish Bones, and six Grave Dust are required to complete the Putrid Rat recipe. The Twilight Snapper, in particular, can be difficult to locate, so make sure you know where to look for the best fishing places before heading out for the evening.

How to beat the Putrid Rat

Simply place your ingredients in the Vermin Nest and wait a few seconds to summon the Putrid Rat. If you want to avoid being outmatched, we recommend starting with a Gear Score of at least 30. Because it isn't especially fast, the Putrid Rat, like many of the other bosses in the game, requires patience to wait for opportunities to attack. However, about halfway through the battle, the big rodent will summon a swarm of its rat companions as a backup.

You can utilize Rat Form like any other Vampire Power once you've defeated your scurrying foe. From the Ability Selection menu, drag and drop it into the wheel. Then, holding left Ctrl, open the wheel and select it by placing your cursor over the rat icon.
