Kieran Rhodes, a singer, and composer from the Capital Region has joined a long line of Capital Region musicians to see if he has what it takes to win America's hearts. He will compete in the fourth round of auditions for Season 17 of 'America's Got Talent.' Rhodes, a Berklee College of Music student, will perform for the judges on NBC's 'America's Got Talent,' singing and playing. Kieran revealed his 'AGT' audition on Facebook, claiming that he has kept the news to himself for a few months and is "extremely thrilled." He also advised his friends to keep a watch on Simon Cowell to see if he liked him. For the nationally televised audition, Kieran, 20, of Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School, performed an original song.

Who is Kieran Rhodes?

Kieran Rhodes is a former Varsity baseball player and an alternative singer-songwriter. After spending his entire childhood training for a baseball career, Kieran discovered his immense affinity for music in high school. Prior to that, he spent the entire year playing baseball, traveling across the country to tournaments in the hopes of attracting the attention of a college scout. His goal as a second baseman was to make a Division 1 university team. He dedicated the next few years to honing his craft, first learning to play the piano, then singing, and then writing songs 2019. By the time he was a junior, he was accompanying the jazz band at Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School.

Kieran would run from baseball practice to music sessions during the transition period. His friends teased him since he wasn't a total jock anymore. It was a big change, but his teachers were very supportive of his desire to continue music, which he appreciates. His background sets him apart from other Berklee students who have been practicing their instruments since childhood in order to gain acceptance to one of the country's top music schools. Kieran, whose family still lives in Burnt Hills, performed on the main stage of the Albany Tulip Festival last month with a band in front of a local audience. In one footage from a separate performance on Facebook, Kieran's vocals and falsetto seem similar to Chris Martin, the main singer of the band Coldplay.

Despite having only seven years of musical experience, Kieran has already released eight songs and an EP, "On the Corner of Somewhere Street." "What Got Into You," a song from his EP, has received over 30k streams and earned him an honorable mention in the American Songwriter Contest 2021. Kieran is influenced by artists such as James Taylor, Randy Newman, and Billy Joel. Kieran aspires to travel the world and perform in front of audiences while honing his voice and talent. His sound is laid-back and ageless, blending folk, pop, and alternative music. For the Food Network's 'Restaurant Impossible,' he collaborated on a song. Kieran, a second-year college student, makes his television debut as a contestant on the 17th season of 'America's Got Talent.'

Kieran was offered an audition when one of the producers saw him play in Boston. The 'AGT' had never occurred to him, he told the Times Union. After seeing him play, the producer contacted him and said, "I need to get you on the show." She presented him to her executives, who were enthusiastic about him. And they drew him in like a magnet. It was insane, and he will be forever grateful. He was nervous before the audition, but not because he would be playing in front of 3,000 people at the Civic Auditorium in Pasadena. He was scared of standing in front of the judges.

According to Kieran, the four famous judges who may tell you that they don't like you are what makes you nervous. That's when he starts to feel jittery. Mia Scirocco, a professional singer, was in the audience for the audition, which she described as "not your typical audition." She was ecstatic with her child's handling of the circumstance. She would be there to support him and keep him calm. Furthermore, she is completely oblivious to what happened. It was horrifying and felt like I was out of my body. According to his mother, Kieran handled the situation with confidence and grace.
