With the 1.19 The Wild update, Minecraft will receive a slew of new objects and features. With the inclusion of Frogs, Allays, and the terrifying Warden, players will have enough to do to pass the time. The Sculk Sensor is another new feature that has been added to the game. Here's how to get one and put it to good use.

How to find Sculk Sensors in Minecraft and how they work

How to find Sculk Sensors

Ancient Cities in Deep Dark biomes are the only places where Sculk Sensors can be found (unless you are playing Creative, where you can grab it in the item menu). Make sure you have an item with the Silk Touch enchantment on it before going in quest of Ancient Cities, especially a Hoe for speedier retrieval. Sculk Sensors can only be carried in this manner. Crafting Sculk Sensors is impossible. Look for the wavey head on top of the block with a dark bluish-green texture.

How to use Sculk Sensors

Sculk Sensors are a new block that can generate a Redstone charge in a nine-block radius when surrounding noise is detected. Any vibration from that noise will trigger the Sensor, resulting in a two-second Redstone activation. The stronger the Redstone emission, the closer the vibration source is. These Sensors work with Sculk Shriekers in the Deep Dark to warn the Warden that you are in their territory, but there are methods around it. The Sensors will not notice you if you crouch walk. Walking on Wool blocks or placing them between the Sculk Sensor and the vibration source will also prevent vibrations from reaching the Sensor.

Sculk Sensors can be used to activate traps or other contraptions that don't need to be operated constantly outside of Ancient Cities. These will not be employed for Redstone projects that require continual power because they have a fast activation followed by a very short cooldown.
