Sonic Origins: How to Unlock More Museum Items

Sonic Origins isn't only a collection of Sonic games from the 16-bit 2D era. It has a full area dedicated to concept art, movies, and music that accompanied the franchise in the 1990s, which should please fans. This mode is the Museum, where you can effectively go on a trip down memory lane, but not everything is available immediately away when you start Sonic Origins. You'll have to unlock several things, so here's how to accomplish that.

How to Unlock More Museum Items in Sonic Origins

The following are the three techniques for unlocking new content in the Museum:

The first way to gain access to more Museum material is to purchase the game's Digital Deluxe edition or the "Classic Music Pack" when it becomes available. This adds more music to the Museum Mode's Sounds menu, which you can listen to. Unfortunately, you won't be able to get this without paying, therefore it's locked behind a paywall. It's a little shady.

Farming for Coins is the next option. Completing Missions, Boss Rush modes, and obtaining 1-ups are all ways to earn this type of cash. If that last piece confused you, it's because you'll have infinite lives in all of the games' Anniversary and Mirror Modes. You'll hear the same jingle if you find a 1-up box, pick up 100 rings, or get 50,000 points, but you'll get a coin instead.

When you have Coins, go to the Premium Collection tab of each Museum Mode category's Premium Collection tab. Each item will cost you 5 Coins, whether it's a song or a movie. Finally, playing the game will allow you to unlock more stuff. You may unlock the opening and outro movies just by clearing each game. If you gain the game's awards or achievements, you'll be able to access more goods. If you're on Switch and this isn't an option, things in your Normal Collection will tell you what conditions you need to complete before you can receive them.

In Sonic CD, you can go into the past or future, win a jackpot in Casino Night Zone in Sonic 2, or transform into Super Sonic.
