Steam Summer Sale: How to get the Steam 3000 Badge
The Steam Summer Sale for 2022 offers numerous discounts on a variety of games, as was to be expected. It also involves a variety of promotional activities. Players can earn a temporary Badge by solving a puzzle (which involves a character by the name of Clorthax). The Steam 3000 Badge, which has a Summer Sale motif like in prior years, is also available. Similar to how you obtain other badges, the new badge must be created from Trading Cards. Completing a set of 10 Trading Cards with a Clorthax theme is required for this particular Badge. However, you cannot acquire these cards by merely investing time in playing games, as they are unrelated to any one game. Instead, you acquire them through a variety of Summer Sale activities.
How to get Steam 3000 Trading Cards
Complete Explore queues
To start a new Discovery queue, simply navigate to your Store page and scroll down until you see the prompt as displayed above. Then, simply navigate through every game on the waiting list to get one free Trading Card. However, you are only allowed to do this once per day, and it resets at 1:00 PM ET.
Purchase games
By purchasing games during the sale, you may also earn Trading Cards. For every $10 purchased, you'll get one Card.
Trade Cards
You can trade cards with anyone on your friend's list or in the trade forum. By selecting the Steam 3000 Badge on your Badges tab, you can quickly see if any of your friends have the Cards that are missing from the set.
Buy Cards
You can always just buy Trading Cards from the Community Market if you don't want to deal with getting Card drops or trading for them or if you just need to fill in a few gaps in your collection. Although limited-time Cards are probably going to be more expensive, this is typically not overly pricey, with most Cards selling in the $0.06-0.08 region.
