The Quarry: How to kill the Hackett Family

You'll have to kill at least some members of the Hackett family if you want to get all nine counselors through The Quarry alive. It's also feasible to eliminate the entire clan – in fact, Eliza begs you to do so. Here's what you'll need to do if you want to grant her wish. There are numerous critical moments in the game that include spoilers.

Kaylee

As part of the plot, Kaylee dies by default. Regardless of what you do before Chapter 5, Laura will shoot her off-screen. That's one down.

Constance

Constance's assassination is fast and filthy. At the start of Chapter 9, she'll drag Laura out of the cellar, and they'll struggle in the dark over the shotgun. If you succeed in this timed event, you'll unintentionally shoot her in the face.

Jedidiah

Laura will battle Jedidiah later in the chapter as she begins to change. When the game prompts you, choose to attack him, then complete the quick-time event. With werewolf power, you'll strangle him to death with a single hand.

Chris, Bobby, and Travis 

Because all three events occur at the same time, they've been grouped together. Step one: pull out the knife if Ryan is stabbed, or use it to stab Bobby in the back later if you get into a fight with him. Werewolf Chris will murder him in both circumstances because he is powerless to fight back. You'll be aiming the shotgun with Ryan right after that. To save yourself, shoot Chris.

Travis' fate is in jeopardy at this point. If you failed the QTE in Chapter 7 when Laura tried to seize his gun, he was shot. As a result, after Chris is shot, he'll knife Laura to death. He then approaches Ryan, allowing you to shoot him as well. If you succeeded in disarming him in Chapter 7, he'll join Laura and Ryan in the conclusion. This is the way to a happy ending, but you still have the option of killing him. Silas will kill all three of you, Travis included, if you don't lift your gun and shoot him in his cage.

Caleb

Caleb can be killed in two ways. One approach works whether Travis, Laura, or Ryan work together, while the other is the only way to kill Caleb if they don't. The first method is to shoot him with silver shells. Grab Abi and Emma when they're in the storm shelter in Chapter 9 — they'll be on the ground near Emma when she goes away. When the werewolf knocks on Kaitlyn's door in Chapter 10, she might choose to go to Abi and Emma. They'll roll the shell under the door to Kaitlyn. Shoot Caleb with it to kill him with silver. To be clear, this strategy works regardless of whether Travis, Laura, or Ryan confront Silas.

The second option is only effective if the trio intends to shoot him. This was stated in Chapter 1 as a prerequisite. Choose to assist Emma in breaking into the locked cabin as Abi. Turn left once inside to find a stuffed rabbit on a shelf. Place this in your luggage to be used later. Return to Chapter 10 now. Have Kaitlyn hide instead of approaching Abi and Emma. She's going to dash to the kitchen. Instead of entering yourself, go for the freezer and throw the decoy. Caleb is now trapped inside. Caleb's curse will be lifted after Silas is shot, but he will die inside due to the frigid temperatures.
