Destiny 2: How to complete Sever Resolve

In the Sever — Resolve quest from Destiny 2, we go back to the Derelict Leviathan. This time, Caiatl is considerably more eager to cooperate with your Guardian and Eris as she attempts to take on the Nightmare of Ghaul. What you must do to finish this quest is described in this guide.

All tasks in Sever — Resolve

You will be navigating the Leviathan's interior as you try to make your way to the ship's engines. Unfortunately, you won't be able to get to the engines because of the numerous Loyalist Cabal in your way. The journey will resemble that of the Sever—Rage quest. When you get to the engine room, you'll first run into Caiatl's Vanguard, and you can fight with them for the duration of the quest. When you arrive at the Vanguard, you must eliminate any hostile Scorn and Loyalist Cabal from the Engineering Bay. Approach the Ritual Amplifier location, which a waypoint should indicate after they have been routed.

After setting the Ritual Amplifier, Caiatl can be found in the following room. She and Ghaul will have a brief exchange, but you can hop down and keep going after hearing it. You must move to the right and deal with an Unrelenting Nightmare, just like in the Rage mission. To do this, look to the right of where you entered for the bright conduit above the entrance. This will let a door down below it open. Enter the space and interact with the console that is to the left of the door. You must guide the Nightmare inside the incineration chamber after the terminal opens it. Throughout this task, The Nightmare will be glad to accompany you, so it won't be far behind.

After that, go back to the incinerator's door to interact with the terminal there in order to switch it on and eliminate the Nightmare. Now you can exit this space and head back to your pathway. Outside of a few adversaries who are waiting for you, the route forward is clean with the turbines off. Caiatl and Ghaul will be waiting for you to begin the ritual once those have been dealt with.

Defeating Ghaul

The conflict with Ghaul will resemble that in Rage. In contrast to past Nightmare encounters, Ghaul will only have one health bar here, making it easier for you to deal with him swiftly. Over near Caiatl, a Scythe will frequently appear, which you can utilize to quickly take down Ghaul and the horde of Loyalist Cabal. Although there will be several Loyalist Cabal in this battle, Ghaul should be your main target. Return to Caiatl after defeating Ghaul to retrieve your reward and finish the task.
