Madden 23: How will Fieldsense work

The Madden 23 team and EA Sports gave us our first look at the upcoming iteration of the Madden franchise on June 2. A brief explanation of Fieldsense was also given in this first look. Field sense is a brand-new addition to the Madden franchise, and it has the potential to be a game-changer in the simulation gaming genre. We have a much clearer sense of what this new feature is and what it implies going forward now that the first trailer has been revealed and the release date for Madden 23 has been confirmed.

How will Fieldsense work in Madden 23

According to EA, Fieldsense is a new gameplay system that will be available in Madden 23 only on current-generation consoles (PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X). The development team describes this new method as "physics-informed animation and animation-branching technologies." This new technology, with Fieldsense, should allow for increased realism and physics-based outcomes.

Hit Everything, 360° Cuts, Skill Based Passing, and WR vs. DB Battles are the four major components of Fieldsense in Madden 23. Over 3,500 additional animations have been added to Hit Everything to make tackling and collisions between players more realistic. Add-on blocks, a physics-based animation selection system in multiplayer tackle situations, stand-up tackles, and mid-air knockouts are all part of this. Users won't have to utilize the left analog stick to pick between a harsh cut and a rounded turn using 360° Cuts. As a ball carrier, players can now slam on LT/L2 to determine when and where they cut.

Skill Based Passing introduces new mechanics, such as the quarterback's ability to lead a receiver into free space and throw the ball where you want it, and only the receiver can grab it. Power and accuracy meters are included in this new system. All game types will feature WR vs. DB Battles elements, including an all-new evasion concept. This, on the other hand, is more or less tailored to the Face of the Franchise. This mechanic comprises WR release maneuvers that can be activated with the right analog stick and the LT/L2 buttons.

According to EA Sports, cornerback presses will return in Madden 23, but the mechanics will be more dynamic. Madden 23 will be released for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC on August 19th.
