Raft: How to Get Seaweed and Vine Goo

By exploring the reefs surrounding islands, you can obtain seaweed for your raft. The towering vines in our header image are seaweed, which is rather difficult to miss. You can simply approach a glowing leaf and take it without using any additional equipment. While Seaweed is simple to obtain, it isn't particularly valuable on its own; you'll need a smelter to turn it into the much more useful Vine Goo, so while you're down there, you should also be farming Sand and Clay to build Dry Bricks.

What is Seaweed Used for in Raft?

Seaweed is exclusively used to make Flippers, a type of apparel that allows you to move more quickly in the water, and is never used on its own. Vine Goo, a highly adaptable substance for equipment in mid-game, can be made by melting it, though. Seaweed can be found in the shallow waters surrounding an island, and the easiest method to use it in a raft is to take it straight from the vine. To generate enough Vine Goo for all of your Crafting requirements, you'll probably need to travel to numerous islands.

How to Get Vine Goo in Raft

By putting seaweed in a smelter, you can create Vine Goo to use in a raft. You can take out the Vine Goo and put something else in the Smelter after it has done melting. Vine Goo can also be found in chests and other containers, primarily on islands.

What is Vine Goo Used for in Raft?

One of the most crucial elements for moving on to the mid-game of Raft is Vine Goo. In order to develop the plot, you first need Circuit Boards, which are made from Vine Goo and copper. What you can create with Vine Goo is as follows:

• Basic Bow
• Circuit Board
• Cooking Pot
• Empty Bottle
• Flippers
• Oxygen Bottle
• Sweep Net

If you wish to kill birds, whether they be Seagulls or the enormous Screecher, the Basic Bow is a need. The Empty Bottle is also quite helpful; in addition to being more practical for storing water, it is practically essential if you wish to start farming. Put seaweed in a smelter for the best results in getting Vine Goo in a raft. Vine Goo is occasionally found in crates and other containers (usually on islands), but you won't find much of it in the early game unless you smell the seaweed.
