The Quarry: How to save Abigail

The Cavern Abigail is one of the nine camp counselors you control throughout the game. Each of these characters' fates is placed in your hands by The Quarry, and it is up to you to see them through the night. Abi is one of the group's first to get into trouble, and she'll encounter plenty more dangers along the route. Here's everything you need to know about rescuing Abigail in The Quarry.

HOW TO SAVE THE QUARRY ABIGAIL: GENERAL TIPS

Before we begin, please be warned that this tutorial will contain game spoilers, so please be alert. This book will also enlighten you on the finest decisions to make in order to keep Abigail alive, but it is up to you to pull it off. There will be skill checks that you must pass, and failures can lead to divergence and, eventually, death. To keep Abigail healthy, you'll need to perform well in QTEs and skill tests. Also, try to make Abigail and Nick's connection as nice as possible. It will be put under a lot of strain later, so keeping them close now will assist. There are several things at play in The Quarry, but the steps listed here are the ones you should take to keep Abigail alive.

HOW TO SAVE THE THE QUARRY ABIGAIL: FIRST DANGER

Abigail, unfortunately, is the first of the gang to be put in a risky scenario. Specifically, after she exits the fire pit due to the truth or dares challenge. Abi wanders off alone into the woods until Nick finds her. Unfortunately for them, the woods contain more than just the two of them. You should start by bringing Abi and Nick together; you'll want to develop their bond. Don't hide from Nick, and have Abi talk to him openly. This is crucial for the future. A werewolf will interrupt their conversation, and this is when you'll need to be on your game. As you make your way back to the fire pit, make sure to complete as many QTEs as possible. Failure here could result in Abi being bitten, which is the last thing we want. Finally, after Nick is attacked, have Abi try to help him. She won't be able to do much, but we want to keep Abi on Nick's good side.

HOW TO SAVE THE THE QUARRY ABIGAIL: SECOND DANGER

The pool cabin is the second place where you should be concerned about Abi's safety. This will happen shortly after Abi pushes Nick into the pool, which he will resent because he is about to turn into a werewolf (spoilers). Nick is quite far gone at this point, and as a result of his shift, he's been saying and doing some strange and horrible things. When the infection takes hold and Nick transforms into a werewolf, everything comes to a head in the pool cabin. Just before transforming, Nick will pick up Abigail and throw her across the room. Abi can then pick up the shotgun from the floor. Shoot Nick whenever you have the chance. This will have minimal effect on him as a werewolf, but it will frighten him away. Nick will fly through the air and out of the room.

HOW TO SAVE THE THE QUARRY ABIGAIL: THIRD DANGER

This situation necessitates some preparation. First and foremost, when Dylan and Ryan visit Chris Hackett's office early in the game, Dylan will have the option of climbing down the ladder into the storm basement or not. Dylan must not do so, as it will result in the ladder being damaged. The second thing you must do is ensure Emma's survival. Emma and Abi will be waiting in the basement at this stage in the game, assuming everyone is still alive, while Dylan and Kaitlyn go check the scrapyard. When they return, they will be confronted by another werewolf.

Emma and Abi will be able to utilize the ladder to get access to Chris' locked office. This will ensure their safety during the confrontation. They'll locate his camera room here, where they'll be able to watch what's going on outside. They'll also locate silver-laced shotgun rounds, which they can gift to Kaitlyn. If you picked up the stuffed animal at the cabin as Abi at the start of the game, you should avoid handing the shells to Kaitlyn. There is no need to involve Abi and Emma and put them at risk because Kaitlyn can use it to lure the werewolf into the freezer.
