Destiny 2: Do you have to wear Solstice armor in Solstice of Heroes 2022 event?

In Destiny 2, the Solstice of Heroes 2022 event is currently going on. You'll be running through the newest activity, the Bonfire Bash, with a fireteam of Guardians as part of the summer celebration event. You can upgrade the Candescent set of seasonal armor throughout the event. But do you have to wear the Solstice Candescent gear in Destiny 2 to take part in the event?

Is the Solstice Candescent armor required?

We can confirm that the Solstice of Heroes 2022 event requires participants to wear Candescent armor. Eva in the Tower Courtyard is the source of this armor, and she also provides you with a number of objectives to complete as you advance. During the Solstice of Heroes, you can receive silver leaves, silver ash, and kindling. Silver Leaves, the most fundamental of these currencies, are awarded to you as you complete various tasks like Vanguard Strikes, Crucible or Gambit games, Patrols, or Public Events. They are only available to you when you are wearing your Solstice Candescent armor.

If you don't wear this armor, you won't get Silver Leaves, which makes it difficult to get the later currencies, such as Silver Ash and Kindling. As you accomplish Bonfire Bash activities with other Guardians, you will acquire extra Candescent armor pieces that you can combine with your existing sets. The armor will eventually develop a distinct glow when you add Kindling and coat the Embers with Silver Ash. Silver Leaves won't drop for you if you decide to take off this armor during the Solstice of Heroes for any reason.

On August 9, 2022, the Solstice of Heroes event will come to a close. You have until this time to complete all of Eva's missions and get the best glowing armor that your character can wear.
