Destiny 2: How to get the Something New Hand Cannon in Solstice of Heroes 2022
The Solstice of Heroes event for Destiny 2 is here for 2022 and is brimming with both brand-new and time-honored goodies. The decorations from last year's weapons and armor are still available, but a brand-new stasis hand cannon dubbed Something New is also available. It is a 120 RPM Hand Cannon similar to The Steady Hand from Iron Banner or the Bottom Dollar Gambit weapon. The Something New Hand Cannon isn't as easy to obtain, though, as those other gifts. Regardless of whether you have spent Silver Ash or not, you cannot pull it despite the fact that it is visible on Eva Levante's vendor screen. Instead, the Bonefire Bash activity, which is exclusive to the 2022 Solstice event, is your only source of Something New rolls.
Receiving the Something New Hand Cannon
After lighting the blaze and eliminating the Heat Taker boss, you will receive up to two Legendary engrams at the conclusion of even Bonfire Bash. A Something New Hand Cannon can be either one, both, or neither. Because you aren't certain to receive additional rewards even after completely building the campfire, you'll have to spend a lot of time playing the Bonfire Bash activity. Some may even be supporting the world loot pool rather than the Solstice.
It is fortunate that Bonfire Bash bestows Silver Ash if you have any Silver Leaves to burn. How frequently and effectively you can reroll your candescent armor directly depends on how much time you invest in the event activity. You have more opportunities to find something new the more rerolls you seek. When you visit the Tower again, make sure to ask Eva for Solstice Bounties, and keep an eye on the various Event Card challenges to make the most of your farming. While three weeks may seem like plenty of time for Solstice 2022, if the days slip your mind, you may find yourself rushing to farm out the ideal armor or weapon roll.
