Given how young MultiVersus is, we should expect some mistakes and things to break along the road, like the Syncing Account State problem earlier this week. The extended tutorial for the game now looks to have witnessed another significant development. Players are having trouble with the Knockback Influence (KBI) Tutorial, largely because it isn't functioning properly. Here's how to finish that and the reasons why this is so challenging: you're not the only one having trouble.

Multiverse Knockback Influence (KBI) Tutorial Not Working Fix

After finishing the basic tutorials, players who wish to learn about all of MultiVersus' key mechanics can move on to the advanced tutorials. One of these 12 teachings, Knockback Influence, just seems unattainable. When it comes to Smash Bros. terminology, DI and Knockback Influence are interchangeable (or Directional Influence). Holding a direction away from the death zone when an opponent hits you hard and sends you flying is a good technique to learn KBI.

You can utilize it to your advantage to strike stable surfaces like walls and platforms so that you can rebound back onto the stage. The tutorial is guided by the game until you reach the Wonder Woman segment. You will be pushed up into the air at a 100 damage rate by an AI-controlled Wonder Woman using her upward shield bash technique. You must hold down and to the left in this lesson section in order to rotate your knockback without getting rung out. But it appears that even if you perform exactly as the game instructs, you're still getting rung out.

From the last closed beta to the current closed beta, there have apparently been some balancing modifications. You can be knocked out by Wonder Woman's shield bash at level 100, but there is a small trick to get around this in the interim. If you're playing on an Xbox or PlayStation, you can hold the necessary controls when entering your system dashboard just before being struck. For some unexplained reason, going inside your dashboard causes your character to fly far away from the danger zones, completing this section of the training.

It's a little trickier to perform anything in this tutorial until there's a fix because PC gamers can't use this. But nothing particularly significant is connected to finishing the tutorial. All you learn is how to change your trajectory when an opponent launches you, and that's all.
