When engaged in combat in MultiVersus, the kind robot is anything but kind. The Iron Giant rules the battlefield due to his enormous bulk and tanking prowess, but he can also deliver a powerful blow when required. His ground special, Cannonball!, which enables him to leap into the air and even target his landing spot in advance, is one of his most distinctive moves. Even though it isn't always a deadly ability on its own, it might catch you off guard for a quick ring out in the confusion of a fight. The two-part attack part of the ability also makes it riskier because it can be used as a dangerous combo in a direct fight.
What makes Cannonball dangerous?
Cannonball! is an attack that consists of two parts, as we briefly explained. The launch happens first, with a hit part that can surprise anyone around. The actual jump comes next, followed by a falling robot cannonball that, if it hits, causes tremendous damage and knockback. He is largely immune to harm thanks to this power, though not completely, as we'll see in a moment.
How to counter Iron Giant’s Cannonball
Let's start off by stating the obvious: the greatest, most effective way to negate this ability is to stay far away from it. The easiest way to handle his falling on you in this situation is to avoid him. He cannonballs, as we indicated, and is largely immune to projectiles, with his front face reflecting them. While in the air, he is still exposed from the back. This can help you save a friend with a quick aerial kick to the back of a well-placed projectile hit, though the latter is harder to pull off.
Last but not least, utilize the Iron Giant's massive frame and hitbox. The best medicine is prevention, and dealing with him is no different. Partner up to take him down or pile as much damage as you can on him so that each aggressive move he chooses to make puts him at risk of being thrown a long way back. Be careful not to stay too near to him and allow him to throw his weight around. Try to position yourself so that he risks being hurt if he cannonballs after he lands.
