Stray: How to get past the Dead City’s fans

The gorgeously demolished environment of Stay hides mysteries in unexpected places. You'll need to keep an eye out for hints and advice about how to advance everywhere you go, and occasionally the title even defies your expectations by completely forgoing the techniques it teaches you. The game's initial two basic building bricks make this obvious in an early section. To prevent you from being caught off guard by the game, we have created this guide on how to sneak past the Dead City's supporters.

How do you stop the fans in the Dead City in Stray?

You must stop at two fans in the Dead City. After plummeting into the city, the first almost surprises you by obstructing your way as you scramble through pipes. Dropping one of the surrounding buckets down the slopes that lead to this fan is the only way to stop it. On a PlayStation, the interaction button, or triangle, is used to pick these up and drop them. When you drop them, just make sure you're on a slope; gravity will take care of the rest.

The brief chase scene is followed by the second fan in the Dead City. You'll most likely be looking for another bucket somewhere with all that excitement pumping. But that is not the way to resolve this. Instead, you should scan the area to the left of the floor fan. The fan is wired to an electrical outlet. You can enter the flat by unplugging it with the interaction button, which will also cause the fan to stop. You enter the third chapter of the game after passing the second fan. From this point on, you are no longer in the tutorial and must figure out a lot more things on your own.
