Can you get a shiny Zamazenta in Pokémon Go?

In Pokémon Go, there are lots of shiny Pokémon to find. These Pokémon are typically available most of the time, and trainers can obtain them by raiding, catching a Pokémon in the wild, or fulfilling research missions. However, shiny versions are not always given to brand-new Pokémon. Does Zamazenta, the most recent Pokémon to join five-star raids, come in a shiny form?

Does Zamazenta have a shiny version in Pokémon Go?

Zamazenta, Hero of Many Battles, will not yet have a shiny variant in Pokémon Go when it first launches. Almost never will a Pokémon that debuts have a shiny form that players can collect. Most of the time, this rule is no, so players don't need to worry about trying to capture a shiny version while attempting to battle against Zamazenta. There have been a few rare exceptions to this rule.

A Pokémon's shiny form will often show up about a year after its first release. Zamazent and Zacian can only be seen together this time because they have not yet received their shiny versions. It appears Niantic has not yet made the decision to make those forms available. We might not see a shiny version of these two legendaries until some time in 2023, despite the fact that they are debuting for the final portion of the Season of Go before we cross over to September. It's unlikely that a glossy version will be released before the year is over.

Hopefully, next year, when these two return, we'll have better luck. For the time being, you'll have to look into five-star raids for a better Zamazenta.
