Driver signings are one aspect of the F1 Manager 2022 video game that you are responsible for managing. Making sure your driver tandem has the ideal blend of raw speed and development potential is crucial, whether you're looking for replacements within the current Formula 1 lineup or searching for new talent in the junior levels. Therefore, before you even begin your first race, follow our simple guide on how to sign a new driver.
Check out the Drivers Tab
After starting or loading a season in the main hub, click or tab to the 'Drivers' section of the menu along the bottom menu bar. Choose one of your three current drivers from there. Because accepting a new driver's contract using this technique will switch the roles after completion, you must decide which driver you want to replace.
SCOUT FOR REPLACEMENT
After choosing an existing driver, choose the "Scout for Replacement" option. Don't worry, prior driver scouting is not necessary for this situation, but it would be helpful to be aware of a driver's preferences. Here is a lengthy list of Formula One drivers who are now competing in Formula 2, Formula 3, or serving as reserve drivers. This is a list of every driver in F1 Manager 2022.
Choose a New DRIVER
When you click on or choose a driver from the list, a new page with the driver's photo and statistics loads.
PROPOSE CONTRACT
If you'd like to start discussions right away, click the "Propose Contract" button here. From here, you have to try to appeal to the driver of your choosing in five ways:
- Driver position – EIther lead driver, second driver, or reserve driver
- Contract length – Number of years in your team
- Salary – Year wage
- Starting bonus – Up front bonus cost which you must pay now
By default, each of these factors is set to a rough estimate for each driver. You can change these estimates to fit your own preferences and the budget of your team.
Additionally, the following driver information is important:
- Patience – If this is high, they are more likely to repeat offers if needed
- Negotiation attitude – If they are open, more likely to accept, if not, you better have a crazy offer
- Morale – Current feeling in their existing team
OFFER CONTRACT
Select the "Offer Contract" button once you are satisfied with your choices. The prospective new driver will then evaluate the proposition. The five factors—driver position, contract term, income, and starting bonus—will be returned and color-coded with their feedback if they don't like it. If they do, you'll sign them right away.
- Orange – below expectations
- Yellow – mediocre
- Green – Perfect
Not every component needs to be green; instead, a green and yellow combination is probably acceptable, but any orange component is typically a rejected first offer. If your submission was declined, adjust the orange and yellow portions upward and try again. The patience rating of a driver, however, decreases with each unsuccessful attempt. You won't be able to submit again until later in the season if you make too many unsuccessful attempts.
HIRE
Simply choose the 'Hire' button with the handshake emblem if your offer is accepted. Keep in mind that this will replace the original driver you chose at the beginning of the procedure. It's done.
There is a "cancel proposal" option as a backup plan, just in case. After choosing the hire option, you must next pay the relevant costs, including the starting bonus and any contract break or buyout expenses. You now possess the driver after confirmation.
SCOUTING DRIVERS FOR THE LONG TERM
However, if you are content with your present squad but have an eye on the future, return to the "Drivers" page and select "Scout Drivers" instead of a driver. The driver list will stay the same. There are two alternatives for scouting, so choose the one you're interested in.
- Standard scouting
- Detailed scouting
Detailed requires more time but delivers by email more precise information, increasing the likelihood that a driver will accept your offer. Sometimes scouts will email you about a promising opportunity even though you didn't ask for it.
HIRING NEW TEAM MEMBERS
In F1 Manager 2022, you may also hire important team members in addition to drivers. The procedure is essentially the same as hiring a driver. Pick an existing team member from the main home menu's "Staff" option, then select "Scout for Replacement" to look through a list. You enter the bargaining process with the same options as a driver would have once you've chosen a potential replacement candidate. However, you only have three choices:
- Contract length
- Salary
- Starting bonus
If all goes according to plan, you'll have a team member with better stats than your current role-filler, which aids in automobile development.
