Final Fantasy XIV has a couple of new mounts with Patch 6.2: Buried Memory. There are numerous ways to gain these mounts, and it can be difficult to identify them because patch notes rarely go into depth about which mounts have been added. The Wondrous Lanner is one such mount, and there are several ways to gain it depending on how much time the player wants to devote to it.

Where to find the Wondrous Lanner Whistle in Final Fantasy XIV

The first method for obtaining the Wondrous Lanner Whistle mount is to be really lucky with the Wondrous Tails activity. To access this feature, players must first finish the Idyllshire quest "Keeping Up with the Aliapohs." This will allow you to receive a diary from the Khloe NPC at Idyllshire x5.7 and y6.0 every week. This diary will award you with a sticker for participating in weekly activities. Once you've collected nine stickers, you can return the notebook to Khloe for a prize. The stickers unlock on a 4  4 grid layout, and you must obtain a Gold Certificate of Commendation by completing three full lines with these nine stickers. This doesn't happen very often, but if you're lucky, you can trade the gold commendation for the mount.

Using Faux Leaves to get the Wondrous Lanner Whistle in Final Fantasy XIV

Another way to get the Wondrous Lanner mount is to acquire 600 Faux Leaf cash by completing Unreal Trials and playing the weekly Faux Hallows mini-game. This may be obtained by completing the "Fantastic Mr. Faux" side quest, which can also be found in Idyllshire. You will be able to go to Faux Hallows after you beat the Unreal Trial for the week.

The goal of Faux Hallows is to flip tiles to produce one of three different-sized portraits. You can earn 100 faux leaves by producing the tiniest picture if you're lucky with flips. Creating the huge picture will also grant you a retelling, allowing you to defeat the Unreal Trial twice in the same week for an extra shot at Faux Hallows.

The third method for obtaining the Wondrous Lanner Whistle is actually fairly straightforward if the player is a "billionaire." The mount can be bought from other players on the market board for a substantial sum. Aside from getting mounts, players can spend time on the Island Sanctuary or finish the main story quest in Buried Memory.
