Horse trainer Chad Brown arrested In Saratoga, accused of obstruction of breathing

According to Saratoga Springs Police, Chad Brown, a well-known and renowned horse trainer, has been detained on suspicion of various crimes. The resident of Mechanicville was taken into custody and accused of felony criminal obstruction of breathing. On Thursday morning, a judge will hear his case. The Saratoga Springs Police report that Brown was taken into custody on Wednesday.

He was compelled to pay over $1.6 million in overdue wages and penalties to employees at the Saratoga Race Course and other New York racetracks back in 2019. By failing to pay grooms and hot walkers, to pay overtime, and to maintain the necessary time and payroll records, Brown and his business allegedly broke the fair labor standards statute.

On Thursday at Saratoga Race Course, the four-time Eclipse Award-winning trainer has two entries: Nabokov in the eighth race and Robyn and Eli in the ninth race, a New York Stallion Series Stakes battle.
