The new player program from San Diego Studios was released on August 12; the timing couldn't have been better. A day after Ken Griffey Jr., a member of the Baseball Hall of Fame, made an appearance at the 2022 Field of Dreams game, players of MLB The Show 22 can now acquire a 99 OVR card of Griffey Jr. and earn experience points for the game's featured program. What must you perform in order to obtain this card, and how do 99 Griffey's statistics appear? Let's go over everything.
How to complete 99 OVR Griffey Jr. Program
You must earn 24 Points in order to finish this program in its entirety. The benefits that can be attained with this program are as follows:
- 3 Points – Ballin’ is a Habit pack
- 6 Points – Coach puppet profile icon and 500 Stubs
- 9 Points – Stadium Sound and 750 Stubs
- 12 Points – Mariners 1993 Home jersey
- 15 Points – Ballin’ is a Habit pack and 750 Stubs
- 18 Points – Headliners Set 37 pack
- 21 Points – Bat Skin
- 24 Points – 99 OVR 2nd Half Ken Griffey Jr. and 1,000 Stubs
You should aim to execute the following in order to reach the 24 Point mark in the cleanest manner possible:
Finish the 10 Moments (10 pts. – 1 pt. each)
Finish all five Parallel PXP Missions for 14 points:
- Tally 750 PXP with Reds in Ranked Seasons, Battle Royale, Events, Play vs. CPU, Mini Seasons, or Conquest (2 pts.)
- Tally 750 PXP with White Sox in Ranked Seasons, Battle Royale, Events, Play vs. CPU, Mini Seasons, or Conquest (2 pts.)
- Tally 1,500 PXP with Mariners in Ranked Seasons, Battle Royale, Events, Play vs. CPU, Mini Seasons, or Conquest (3 pts.)
- Tally 3,000 PXP with Mariners in Ranked Seasons, Battle Royale, Events, Play vs. CPU, Mini Seasons, or Conquest (4 pts.)
- Tally 15 home runs with Mariners in Ranked Seasons, Battle Royale, Events, Play vs. CPU, Mini Seasons, or Conquest (3 pts.)
This program offers three exchanges. The Missions and Moments can be completed instead of those, just like in the prior programs, unless you don't want to complete certain of the Moments. By performing the two trades, one for Reds players (1 point), one for Mariners players (2 points), and the other for AL West players (3 points), up to six of the Moments may be avoided. Saving Stubs by avoiding such exchanges will help.
Making a squad of White Sox, Reds, and Mariners players and using those cards in Conquest or Mini Seasons is arguably the best method to finish the Missions. You can grind in various Conquests and/or Mini Seasons that way without being constrained by internet play. Users can obtain 15,000 XP toward the Field of Dreams Featured Program if they complete this Program entirely and earn the 99 OVR Ken Griffey Jr. Look in the Field of Dreams Program Collections for the Griffey Jr. one. Take the 15,000 XP and lock the card inside.
