Prior to MLB The Show 21, San Diego Studios frequently issued challenges in Diamond Dynasty with an "Extreme" theme. In order to get some pretty potent cards and other rewards, these challenges generally involve performing moments and other challenging tasks. After taking a year off, Extreme is back for MLB The Show 22. What must you do, then, in order to finish the Extreme program this year? Let's look at it.
How the Extreme Program works
The Extreme Program's principles are really straightforward. Moments in MLB The Show typically have lower challenges, while the missions necessary to finish episodes usually demand some but not excessive effort. This program is substantially more challenging because it demands that players play on harder difficulties. This is because most of the program's moments are at the All-Star level or higher, which makes the time and achievements needed to finish them much harder. Users must, for instance, get 10 bases in a game with Carlos Delgado at one point. Another tells users to come back from a six-run deficit to win like the Mets did against the Phillies earlier this year.

Here's how to reach 100 Points in the simplest way possible:
Complete the 10 Moments (30 pts. – 3 pts. each)
Complete the six Parallel PXP Missions (33 pts.):
- REPEATABLE: Tally 25,000 PXP with any players in Ranked Seasons, Battle Royale, Events, Play vs. CPU, Mini Seasons, or Conquest (3 pts.)
- Tally 500 PXP with 99 OVR Kerry Wood in Ranked Seasons, Battle Royale, Events, Play vs. CPU, Mini Seasons, or Conquest (2 pts.)

Complete Extreme Showdown (25 pts.)
Complete Extreme: The Kraken Conquest (25 pts.)
For this program, not all of the Moments must be accomplished. The repetitive task can be leveraged into a positive boost for advancement in the Extreme Program when paired with the other missions and the Conquest. However, obtaining 10,000 PXP with 99 OVR Kerry Wood—moving that card into Parallel V—would result in 30 total points. Therefore, moving on with this program should be much simpler after you obtain that wood.
Any of the four cards can be obtained by users, and by collecting them, they can earn experience points for the Dog Days of Summer game. For those who can obtain all four cards before September 1, they will each yield 30,000 experience points, for a total of 120,000 experience points.
