Sea of Thieves: How to design and customize your ship’s quarters

In Sea of Thieves, you have a ton of options for customizing your ship, and as a captain, those possibilities grow even more. No matter what size ship you sail, your quarters can be furnished with new digs, furniture, and decorations to make them uniquely yours. The modest sloop doesn't have a lot of area for personalization, but even a small ship may look much better with a few fresh decorations. A Brig can be said to be somewhat similar. However, if you're the captain of a galleon, you can go above and beyond with a wider variety of decorations. In this guide, you'll learn how everything functions.

How to apply decorations to your ship in Sea of Thieves

You'll be able to adorn your ship with a range of new cosmetics known as "decorations" once you've unlocked your Captain's Logbook, purchased your first ship and started your career as a Captain. All of them are available for purchase from the Shipwright at any outpost. You'll only have access to the fundamentals when you first start out: the sailor decorations. The appearance of each quarter and its ship capacity are listed below.

Decorations for any ship

  • Table used for starting quests
  • Drapes near the smaller windows
  • In smaller ships, the bed is either below decks or in the main cabins in galleons.
  • Rugs on Galleons around the map and in the key areas

Galleon-only Decorations

  • Chair for the Captain to sit in
  • Chandelier for the main quarters
  • Large bay windows behind the Captain's chair should have curtains.

Beyond the handful you receive at the start of your term as Captain, you will need to acquire every additional decoration. You accomplish this via the Ship's Log Milestones, where the more elaborate alternatives need a larger investment than the simpler ones. For instance, the Wild Rose Captain's Bed in the Voyage Quests Completed Pirate Milestone only requires you to reach Class 5. In other words, to unlock the bed, take voyages from any Merchant Alliance and finish five of them.

In contrast, you must reach Class 45 in "The Feared" Pirate Alignment to access the Captain's Table of the Ashen Dragon. As a result, you will encounter numerous terrifying creatures, including Krakens, Megalodons, and others. To increase class in that alignment, you simply need to complete milestones from that alignment. Still, it will take you at least a few hours to reach 45, 50, or higher.
