Sea of Thieves: How to turn in loot to the Sovereigns
When selling your bounty in Sea of Thieves, you frequently have to bring each item of treasure to the right merchant on an outpost by yourself. Fortunately, the Sovereigns are a trading company that can speed up the procedure for crews under a captain fully. The Sovereigns will accept nearly all of your loot in exchange for the standard amount of gold or Doubloons. Here is how Captains in the Sea of Thieves can take advantage of the Sovereigns.
Where are the Sovereigns in Sea of Thieves?
At each of the seven outposts in Sea of Thieves, which are far from where your ship spawns, there is a unique dock for the Sovereigns. You may have noticed that these docks weren't decorated with a gorgeous purple tent before Season 7, but you can't miss it now. For reference, using the Tavern as a starting point here is roughly where each Sovereign tent is at each Outpost:
- New Golden Sands Outpost: on the southwest island
- Sanctuary Outpost: South
- Dagger Tooth Outpost: northwest
- Galleon’s Grave Outpost: to the north, opposite the dock and facing Traitor’s Fate Fortress
- Morrow’s Peak Outpost: east
- Ancient Spire Outpost: north of the Tavern, across from the regular dock
- Plunder Outpost: northeast
Why should you turn in to the Sovereigns?
Remember that you can only use the Sovereigns' services if you are the ship's Captain or a member of a crew that is Captained. Call the Sovereigns sophisticated or elitist, but that is how things are. Additionally, you cannot exchange wealth for Hunter's Call or Reaper's Bones. In spite of this, returning loot to the Sovereigns is a considerably quicker process, giving you more time for subsequent exploration. Even though the Sovereigns do not have their own ships or an Emissary Flag, delivering wealth to them would advance the completion of pirate and ship milestones meant for sale to them. Selling Gold Hoarder loot, for instance, will increase your reputation as a gold hoarder, but it will only count toward the "Treasures Sold to the Sovereigns" milestone.
How to turn in loot efficiently to the Sovereigns
The Sovereigns accept all of your loot, and their dock and tent include handy features that make selling things even faster. You can gather all of your loot into one giant pile using an elevator and a harpoon. Go to the Sovereigns' tent's mast and climb the ladder there first. You will eventually arrive at a platform with harpoons and an elevator; the elevator may be lowered by pulling a lever on the mast behind you, but don't do so just yet.
You can then harpoon treasure off your ship and put it on the elevator, assuming your ship is docked at the Sovereign port. Pull the lever to lower the elevator and descend to the base of the tent once all of your loot has been gathered into one large pile. You don't need to take many steps anymore to give the elegant Sovereigns NPC all of your magnificent goods. You can also raise or lower the elevator by pulling a lever on the back of the mast's base.
Are the Sovereigns at The Reaper’s Hideout?
As was previously said, the Sovereigns are a refined group, and you may have noticed that they don't have a presence at The Reaper's Hideout. The Sovereigns NPCs will convey to you through chat that they don't particularly like or trust The Reaper's Bones, despite the fact that you can turn in stuff there even if it isn't officially an Outpost and they are banned from going near it.
