Soul Hackers 2: How to recruit demons

Fans may anticipate several recognizable aspects in the most recent installment of the venerable Shin Megami Tensei series. Recruitment of demons yields the desired results. Its execution, however, differs from that of any of its forerunners. The new, more efficient process for recruiting demons is described in our guide.

Soul Hackers 2: How to recruit demons

How demon recruitment works in Soul Hackers 2

Demons cannot be acquired through battle, in contrast to Persona 5 and the other Shin Megami Tensei games. Instead, discussions with demons happen away from conflicts, during dungeon exploration. Your currently hired demons are launched on a search for items and other rewards when you first enter a dungeon. They serve as interaction points throughout each dungeon and can be seen standing in various locations.

One of these sites of engagement allows the mechanic of summoning demons explicitly. A distinct symbol designating a different kind of reward is used to indicate each friendly demon interaction. The demon recruitment emblem resembles a digital demon that emerges from a cube. This emblem comes in two variations, one with and one without stars encircling the monster. The greater likelihood of a new demon emerging from the interaction is indicated by the icon with stars. Both variations could still welcome you with demons you already have or haven't yet recruited, though.

Speak to a friendly demon if you see them wearing any of the digital demon symbols shown below. You meet a random demon who is looking to be recruited after speaking with the nice demon. They will request things like health points or magic points if you don't already possess the requested monster. Demons, in our experience, promptly join after you grant their initial request. A prize is given in their place if you are greeted by a demon who is already on your roster. This might be anything from producing materials to immediately restoring magic and health.

These helpful devils have various starting points. Every time you return to a dungeon, it will be located in a different location, and it may even respawn within the same session. The only way to affect the system's RNG is to participate in combat. You're more likely to encounter cordial demon contacts for demon recruiting as you engage in more battles. We advise repeatedly traversing the map if you are already level grinding or farming a specific dungeon. Your odds of finding recruitable demons rise if you do this.
