How to do an alley-oop in NBA 2K23

In NBA 2K23, there are three distinct types of alley-oops: the standard alley-oop, the alley-oop to oneself, and the bounce pass alley-oop. Every variation has its own unique characteristics, such as how each is carried out and how many players on the court are engaged in the action. The controls for each are as follows:

  • Alley-oop: Double tap Y (for Xbox) or Triangle (for PlayStation). Next, choose the recipient of the alley-oop pass with the left stick.
  • Alley-oop pass: Double tap Y/Triangle, and then move the left stick towards the hoop.
  • Bounce pass alley-oop: Press A (for Xbox) or X (for PlayStation), plus B (for Xbox) or Circle (for PlayStation). Then, move the left stick toward the receiver of the pass.

The controls for performing alley-oops in NBA 2K23 are as follows. Alley-oops are high-risk, high-reward moves, so keep that in mind. So, when you do one, make sure you are sure of yourself and, if you are in MyTeam or MyCareer, that you have teammates with whom you feel very comfortable receiving the pass and finishing the maneuver.
