There's a potential that if you stream on Twitch, you'll see an error notice saying "Failed to fetch settings from Twitch" before going live. This issue is typically brought on by conflicts between Twitch's servers and your broadcast software's feed quality settings. Fortunately, there are a few straightforward solutions to this problem that can quickly get you up and living again.
Relog into Twitch
An easy "off and back on again" method of troubleshooting can occasionally be sufficient to resolve sudden issues. Before going live, make sure you log out of Twitch using both the broadcast software and the website, then log back in using both methods once more. Try going live once more after logging back into your Twitch account to verify if your stream is operating as planned.
Reset your stream key
You won't be able to go live in any situation if the stream key that is saved in the broadcast software's settings does not match the activation key that is kept in your Twitch preferences. Also, changing your stream key every so often can be helpful because it keeps your software's connection to Twitch's servers fresh and makes sure that only you can see your stream.
Click on Stream in the Settings section of Twitch. There will be a very long, secret string of characters as the first selection under Stream Key and Preferences. To paste the new stream key into the appropriate part of the settings menu of your favorite broadcast program, first, click the Reset button to the right of this string, then the Copy button to its left.
Run your broadcast software as an administrator
If they aren't being run as administrators for added security clearance, some broadcast applications, most notably OBS and Streamlabs, can be very picky about using your desired stream settings. From within your broadcast software, log out of Twitch, then X out the application to end it. After that, log back into Twitch after selecting "Run as administrator" from the context menu of your software's icon.
