Destiny 2: How to complete Lost Lament

The Lost Lament is a rare blade that can be obtained through a mission from Banshee-44 in the Tower of Destiny 2's New Light DLC. With a total of eleven steps, it's a bit of a challenge, and almost the entire quest chain will take place on Europa. As soon as you accept the exotic mission from Banshee-44, grab your warmest jacket and head to Europa to finish the first task.

Destiny 2: How to complete Lost Lament

Collect three dead Exos

We simply need to locate three of the nine deceased Exos that are dispersed around Europe to finish this step. Locate the yellow Exo on a hilltop to the south of the relay site, starting at the center of Cadmus Ridge. After defeating the boss, proceed to the Lost Sector Perdition in the immediate northeast and look in the nook on the left to find the subsequent dead Exo. A dead Exo can be found in the rear immediately behind the last boss if you proceed southeast into Asterion Abyss, through the Lost Sector Concealed Void, and then southeast into Asterion Abyss.

Locate the Giant Exo

Return to the western portion of Cadmus Ridge and enter Bray Exoscience after the quest chain from the three deceased Exos has been updated. Take a right from the first major chamber in Bray Exoscience; as long as the quest is active, it should indicate which room to enter next, but ultimately you'll have to jump down a hole and then across a chasm. Once you've located the enormous head, you must then prove that you are deserving of the sword.

Slay Vex across Europa with a sword.

Put on your best sword and start slicing as instructed. Revisit Perdition with your favored sword; one run will net you 57 Vex kills, and sword kills are still counted even if the weapon isn't loaded with ammo. Don't instantly destroy the boss; instead, reduce its health by one-third and then wait for reinforcements to finish it off. It's okay to delete the remaining items after you see "Quest Updated" on your screen.

Prove yourself with Commander Zavala and Variks.

Most of the time, this stage is over, but just in case, players must get the following three tasks from Commander Zavala and Variks and finish them:

  • Reclaiming Europa
  • Empire’s Fall
  • The Dark Priestess.

Finish them all, then return to Europa.

Prove your worth to Clovis

A new task from Variks titled "Old Secrets, New Challenges" arrives on Europa after completing "The Dark Priestess." To move on with the quest chain in Europa, you need to finish that mission and then the challenge that goes with it (Survival, Agility, or Safeguard).

Defeat Vex with finishers on Europa

Once more, it is advised to simply enter Perdition and proceed through it, making sure to finish off each foe. Before doing so, make sure you aren't continuously utilizing Super Energy by checking your mods. You can finish this whole quest in one perfect run if you beat everyone except the bombers, Hydra, and the last monster.

The Glassway

The flavor text for this text suggests that you'll need to look for fragments of the sword in the Europa mission "The Glassway." Instead, simply finish the strike; during the final fight, you'll notice a notification that the next step for Lost Lament is being processed.

The Broken Blade

Return to the Tower and discuss the broken sword with Banshee-44 there. The mission will advance through some minor conversations before returning to Europa.

Eventide Ruins

Drop off at the Eventide Ruins area of Europa's northern shore. Bunker E15 is located in a lost sector that is close to the drop zone. The Vex must be destroyed, the monster must be killed, and the mission can be advanced by accessing the stash at the sector's end. There is nothing to worry about in this Lost Sector. Leave the sector when you're done, go to the drop zone, and turn left as soon as you get there to find the next mission banner.

Save Clovis

It's a classic situation where you spend hours convincing yourself and then have to save the object of your proof. Take a left after hanging in the grotto to mount the tank. Until the next waypoint is accessible, maneuver the tank through Vex. In order to save Clovis AI, you'll have to move via Bray Exoscience yet another time. As requested by Clovis, place the blade on a pedestal and fend off the Vex for a thrilling conclusion.

Reforging the Lost Lament

Return to the Tower and talk to Banshee-44 one last time to finish this quest chain, get the Lost Lament, and learn more about the mysterious Guardian armorer.
