Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, which drew inspiration from earlier games in the franchise, each have a distinct evil group that players can run into while exploring the Paldea region. Team Star is made up of strong trainers, each with their own distinctive traits, just like Team Rocket and Team Magma before it. This applies to Mela, a boss who appears to prefer fire Pokémon above all others.
Everything known about Mela in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
First revealed by the game’s Seek Your Treasure gameplay trailer, Mela is detailed as the leader of Team Star’s Fire crew, the Schedar Squad. The clip indicates the female figure is the final opponent you will confront at Starfall Street, a site that appears to be home to the squad’s walled base. Although her entire party of Pokémon has not been unraveled quite yet, it is confirmed Mela will at least be using a Torkoal that knows Flame Wheel— so it isn’t likely you’ll be fighting her early on in the game's story.
The biggest mystery about Mela is the name of her other Pokémon. The boss’s first teaser has revealed her standing on a Starmobile of her own, a vehicle that needs to be destroyed in order to defeat Mela. From all appearances, the Starmobile looks to be a brand new Pokémon, as well, as its engine sports a bright yellow eye and a set of sharp chompers.
This same gameplay clip has even revealed a few additional characters and elements. Given that she is allegedly the chairwoman of the Pokémon League, Geeta is the name that stands out the most among the group. The fact that Geeta is referred to as "the most skilled trainer of all" is even more surprising, implying that players can anticipate a conflict with this executive. Outside of one-on-one combat, it is claimed Scarlet and Violet will be the first in the series to feature auto-battle mechanics that let your Pokémon to explore and fight on their own.
