The Halloween event in Destiny 2 is called "Festival of the Lost," and a Spectral Pages issue has wrecked some of the fun. Due to their inability to convert their Spectral Pages to Manifest Pages, players are complaining that they are unable to finish the Gone but Not Forgotten quest, which launches the Festival of the Lost event. Even though there are a few potential solutions to the Spectral Pages fault, Bungie has claimed that the problem can be resolved by finishing a strike. As bizarre as it may sound, Bungie included this as one of their workarounds for the converting Spectral Pages glitch while they worked on correcting it in the This Week at Bungie blog article.
The other Spectral Pages bug fixes Bungie has provided are listed below.
- Eva Levante in the Tower can be found with the Gone but Not Forgotten quest.
- Make sure you are sporting a Festival Mask and the Masquerader's Helm.
- They must own a minimum of three empty inventory slots for their character.
- The player must have Spectral Pages in their inventory before they can play the Haunted Sectors playlist.
As previously said, Bungie then provided a few additional alternatives in case none of the aforementioned workarounds resolved your Spectral Pages issue. The final four solutions are to clean the cache on your console or PC game, get additional Spectral Pages (as if playing more will fix the issue), finish a Haunted Lost Sector, and finish a strike.
The final one, completing a strike, is such a peculiar workaround that we've never heard of. Instead of accepting responsibility and swiftly resolving the problem, it appears as though Bungie is telling players to "play more of our game." They are fortunate that we are finishing strikes rather than attacking the Festival of the Lost event, as its primary currency is shattered. By the time Bungie releases hotfix 6.2.5.2 on Tuesday, November 1, you'll only have seven days left to do everything you can to collect every awesome mask.
