Escape from Tarkov: How to complete Gunsmith Part 3

Once players reach Level 12 in Escape from Tarkov, the Mechanic will assign them the Gunsmith-Part 3 mission, which serves as a standard introduction to the conversion of weapon systems. The crafting system for weapons in Escape from Tarkov is sophisticated, and Part 3 transforms an ordinary MP5 into a vicious, lightning-quick SMG that can leg-burn a tanked player or pierce certain types of armor. Players might want to make two of these since they're not only enjoyable to use, but also very powerful.

How to Finish Gunsmith - Part 3

Players will need to locate an MP5 in order to start determining the modifications required for the third Gunsmith task. An MP5SD or MP5 can be bought from the Peacekeeper if he achieves Level 2 and completes his task of Scrap Metal. Alternatively, the Mechanic will barter for a Level 2 MP5. Buying an MP5 at the flea market should be the last resort. The following qualities are necessary to finish this quest:

  • 50-round magazine
  • Silenced
  • Tactical Flashlight
  • Sighting range above 200
  • Ergonomics above 45
  • Recoil sum below 200
  • Maximum weight of 3.8 kg

What parts are needed for Gunsmith – Part 3?

The goal of the game is for players to convert a conventional MP5 into an MP5 SD by removing the upper receiver and installing a suppressed version. We'll create two distinct setups for this and then combine them to create the finished product. The following items will need to be purchased in order to convert an MP5 to an SD model:

  • HK MP5DS polymer handguard
  • HK MP5SD 9×19 upper receiver
  • HK MP5SD 9×19 sound suppressor

Note that the polymer handguard may have already been included with your MP5. Before making a purchase, check the weapon to make sure you don't overspend because this construction is already quite expensive. After changing the weapon variant, players must add three more parts to the result:

  • HK MP5 9×19 X Products X-5 50-round drum magazine
  • HK MP5SD B&T tri-rail ring mount
  • NcSTAR blue laser LAM-module.

In the same way, as in Gunsmith Part 2, things could be bought and traded with different Traders, but at this point in the game, using the flea market is just a quicker way to get what you need. Before starting, double-check your inventory for the six things.

How to assembly the MP5 for Gunsmith – Part 3

Recognize that upper and lower receivers are the main two components of most guns. While the lower receiver controls fire rates, magazine capacity, and ergonomics, the upper receiver controls gas blocks, silencers, and rail systems. The weight is determined by both pieces.

Building the upper receiver

Take the upper receiver, sound suppressor, and polymer handguard that were purchased to make the MP5 an SD variation. Replace the MP5's existing upper receiver by dragging the silencer and handguard into the upper receiver to complete the SD version upper. Place the upper receiver from the MP5's MP5A3 stock and drum rear sight on the upper receiver from the SD version.

Kitting the MP5SD for turn-in

Add the tri-ring, laser, and drum magazine to complete the build when the new upper receiver and MP5 lower receiver have been matched. Make sure the MP5A3 stock and rear drum sight are attached to the new weapon before submitting it for return.
