Gotham Knights: How to change characters

The first choice you must make in Gotham Knights is which member of the Batman family you will control. Therefore, being able to switch characters is helpful knowledge. You can play as Batgirl (Barbara Gordon), Nightwing (Dick Grayson), Robin (Tim Drake), or Red Hood (Jason Todd), but it can be difficult to tell from the three Character Proficiency bullet points you're given at the beginning who will suit you best. Moreover, you don't want to be locked into a single superhero for the duration of your Gotham Knights playthrough. Fortunately, that isn't the case, so if you're wondering whether or not it's possible to switch characters in Gotham Knights, and if so, how to do it, we have all the information you require.

How to change characters in Gotham Knights

Gotham Knights' character-switching feature becomes available very early on, but there are a few prerequisites you must complete first. You'll be instructed to visit the Belfry to review your case files after finishing your initial research at Gotham University in order to buy your first ability. After completing that, you must leave the Belfry and begin your first Gotham City night patrol.

When you finish the patrol and get back to the Belfry, you should notice that the Batman family is now dressed in civilian clothes. All four superhero outfits that can be used to switch heroes in Gotham Knights can be found in the corner to the left of the Batcomputer. As you advance through the game, keep in mind that your player level will apply to all characters, determining your overall strength and the complexity of the adversaries you'll encounter. However, each character has unique skills that must be unlocked by using Ability Points.

This indicates that concentrating on a single character and unlocking their more potent upgrades is more advantageous than evenly distributing Ability Points across all of them. However, each character also has a unique plot mission, so in order to fully experience the narrative, you should spend at least some time on night patrol with each one.
