Call of Duty Warzone 2.0: How to fix mic and voice chat not working errors

In Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0, having a microphone gives you an advantage over the opposition by enabling you to communicate and plan strategies with teammates. The battle royale does, however, occasionally have trouble picking up your audio. This can be because your platform is malfunctioning or because certain settings prevent your teammates from hearing you. Here's everything you can do to fix the annoying issue where you can't chat in Warzone 2.0.

How to fix mic and voice chat not working errors in Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0

Enable voice chat and audio settings

To be able to communicate with others, a number of parameters in the Audio Settings menu must be maintained. The majority of these can be found, as indicated below, under both the Channels and Voice Chat sections. In addition to enabling Voice Chat, scroll down and select Headset from the Voice Chat Device option. Feel free to activate the Microphone Test option in the Voice Chat area and chat to check if your microphone is working properly. Additionally, the entire team should go to the Channel section's Game Voice Channel option and set it to either All Lobby or Group Only if your party is having difficulties hearing you.

Allow microphone access on PC

The default privacy settings on PCs may prevent those using them from chatting. Go to the Privacy and Security tab in your settings, click on App Permissions, and turn on Microphone Access to make sure this is not the case. You must restart Warzone 2.0's launcher after turning on the option if it was previously disabled. Additionally, we advise checking the Sound tab to determine if your microphone is an active input device. If so, you might wish to change the volume using the slider at the tab's bottom.

Check your console’s own audio settings

Due to the Xbox or PlayStation's current audio settings, console users may experience issues with their microphones. To access the Audio and Music icon in the side menu that shows on Xbox, tap the controller's center logo. The Headset Mic option at the top should be turned on, and the Mic Monitoring slider should be all the way to the right. For those using a PS5 or PS4, unmuting the headset and making it the active input device requires pressing the PlayStation button while scrolling over to the microphone icon.

It is advised that you perform a hard reset on your platform to clear it of any potential audio bugs and launcher problems if you are still having problems with your headset. Players can also contact Warzone 2.0's support staff through a website run by Activision, the game's publisher.
