On your second day in Harvestella, Cres will teach you the proper way to take care of the fields around your new residence. She will inform you that you need some hard stones in order to create a hammer after you have planted a few crops. Although this substance might not seem like one you can obtain without a hammer, it is actually quite simple to locate. To locate the Njord Steppe, all you have to do is look east on the map. When you enter the Njord Steppe, search for mining locations marked by little rock symbols. Move on to the next one after interacting with it to get some supplies.

Return to your home once the mining areas have been cleared. On your first outing, you won't collect enough stones, but that's alright because you are still learning how to craft.
