Obtaining a Tera Blast in Scarlet and Violet
You must gain TM171, which in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet features the move Tera Blast, in order to get a Tera Blast. After the duel with Nemona and the Medali Gym battle, Geeta might give it to you. Once you have TM171 (Tera Blast), you can use the TM Machine in any Pokémon Center to create extra copies of the move. Just make sure you have enough League Points and Pokémon Materials before using the TM machine.
Although Tera Blast is a normal-type move that may be employed in combat, its true strength only becomes apparent when it is used by a Pokemon that has been Terastallized. The move is altered to have the Tera type of the Pokémon as its new type. It deals damage with the highest Attack or Special Attack stat.

Each Pokémon's Tera Type is dormant until the creature terastallizes. With 18 types, there are a staggering number of Pokémon and Teratype combinations. You can enhance the effectiveness of attacks that are of the same type as your Pokémon's Tera Type or change a Pokémon's weaknesses by terastallizing it. You will require a Tera Orb in order to Terastallize a Pokémon. The player receives it from NPC Nemona after their initial confrontation with Team Star.
