In Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, the Mystery Gift function isn't available right away. Instead, you must do a certain action in order to gain access to it. Here's everything you need to know about it. Mystery Gift was first introduced in Generation II, and it allowed users to connect locally to receive a random gift. It's come a long way since then; now, all you need is an internet connection to connect with another fan.

However, in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, the feature isn't available right away. To utilize it and receive your free gifts, you must first unlock them.

How to unlock Mystery Gift in Pokemon BDSP

To use the function in the original 2006 games, you had to chat with a man at the Jubilife TV Station. In the Sinnoh remakes, however, this is not the case; the method has changed. It is now unlocked automatically after defeating Maylene, the third Gym Leader in Veilstone City. That's correct, there's nothing you need to do right now! To use the feature, hit X to bring up the main menu, then select Mystery Gift from the drop-down menu. Get via the Internet and Get with Code/Password are both available here.  

Get through the Internet checks Nintendo's servers to determine if anything is available for download. For example, you'll use this option to claim the Manaphy Egg, which is free until February 21, 2022, for all players. You'll enter any codes you acquire from promotions like GameStop or the Pokemon Trainer Club Newsletter email into the Get with Code/Password option.
