Brawlhalla Announces Street Fighter Crossover

Brawlhalla, a free-to-play platformer fighting game that has already seen a slew of partnerships, is getting yet another. The Super Smash Bros.-style fighter has a devoted following, complete with a strong community that hosts tournaments where players may compete for cash rewards. The Brawlhalla roster includes over 50 characters with a wide range of movesets, including several well-known gaming figures. Characters from Capcom's famed fighting game brand, Street Fighter, will be included in the next crossover.

As previously said, Brawlhalla is no stranger to collaborations with a wide spectrum of intellectual properties. Characters from AMC's The Walking Dead, Dreamworks' Kung-Fu Panda franchise, and even Ben 10 have recently been added to Brawlhalla. With characters like Rick Grimes and Negan from The Walking Dead facing off against Rayman and Po from Kung Fu Panda, the possibilities for who may be added next are endless.

Brawlhalla's Petra sees a new challenger approach in the first shot of the new video, which is done in a cartoonish-anime style. Ryu, a wandering warrior portrayed in a similar way, is her opponent. Some of his iconic moves from Street Fighter, such as the rising uppercut Shoryuken, the spinning Tatsumaki Senpukyaku kick, and even the Hadouken, have been converted to Brawlhalla.

Chun-Li, the second character revealed, is equipped with her iconic Spinning Bird Kick and Kikoken missiles. In Brawlhalla, she also looks to be wielding a staff. The nasty Akuma from Street Fighter is the final character added as a result of this partnership. His move set includes the Metsu Hadoken and Tatsumaki Senpukyaku, both of which he performs with the Satsui No Hado. In this game, he even retains his renowned Raging Demon attack.

Brawlhalla's Street Fighter crossover contains a brand-new game mode called "Street Brawl." This shifts Brawlhalla away from its Super Smash Bros.-inspired platformer roots and toward more typical 2D Street Fighter action. This features two health bars at the top of the screen, as well as a set number of victories required to complete the match. Through this cooperation, a brand-new level modeled on the Suzaku Castle arena from Street Fighter will be introduced to the game and will be playable starting November 22.
