Genshin Impact 2.3: Everything We Know About Durin So Far
A dragon is one of the creatures that can be seen in Genshin Impact. Dvalin and Durin are two of the most well-known species. While they are both dragons, they are vastly different in many aspects. There's also Ursa the Drake, in addition to Dvalin and Durin. Ursa, on the other hand, will not be featured on this page because, unlike Dvalin, she is not connected to Durin.
When Albedo relates the story of a dragon in the icy mountains in Genshin Impact 1.2, the name Durin appears for the first time. The narrative goes on to say that Albedo and Durin are "brothers." But it wasn't until Version 2.3, a year later, that this was clearly explained. Here's everything we know about Durin so far.
Made By Gold
Durin, like Albedo, is a product of Rhinedottir's imagination. Gold, the alias of this Khaenri'ah alchemist, is more well-known. Gold is believed to be a person with a lot of knowledge and ambition. This even leads to some disastrous creations, such as the Golden Wolflord from the Genshin Impact.
Gold's whereabouts are currently largely unknown. Rhinedottir, on the other hand, told Albedo to discover the world's reality before she vanished. Unfortunately, despite his brilliance, Albedo has yet to solve this puzzle.
Swallowed The Impostor Albedo
Albedo is a Homunculus, as we all know. He's a made-up, synthetic human. Rhinedottir's best achievement is regarded to be with Durin. Even for such a skilled alchemist, however, the process of creation was not easy.
Albedo's first iteration was deemed a failure. As a result, Gold placed the specimen inside Durin's stomach, where it would remain for many years until it broke out and attempted to eliminate the actual Albedo. This thrilling occurrence is depicted in Genshin Impact 2.3, where Travelers can learn more about Albedo's past.
Is Actually A Soft Creature
Durin is typically depicted as a terrifying creature, but he is truly a gentle soul. The Anemo Archon relates the account of how Durin causes a disaster in Teyvat in one of Venti's sequences. He and Dvalin will eventually have to join forces to destroy this colossal monster.
Despite all of this, Durin's only desire was to befriend the bard and the blue dragon. Durin yearned for another life, one where he and the other two might sing and dance with the people of the country of freedom, even in his final moments. This story is told in the Dragonspine Spear description.
Corrupted Dvalin
While it is unknown how Durin's blood corrupted Dvalin, we do know that the blue dragon killed Durin by biting his neck. This is when the deadly blood most likely entered Dvalin's body. Later, the dragon was dubbed the Stormterror, a creature who harmed rather than protected the people of Mondstadt. Dvalin awakens after years of hibernation to find that the people have forgotten who he is. And when he went looking for Barbatos' consolation, the Archon was nowhere to be found. As a result, Stormterror was duped by the Abyss Order and was easily influenced.
Revived Frostbearing Tree
Durin's blood, however, is capable of more than just corruption. This strange species even has the ability to resurrect and produce new life. The crimson tree, for example, died along with the old civilizations of Sal Vindagnyr when Celestia decided to destroy them. Durin's blood, however, sank into the mountain and was powerful enough to resurrect the Frostbearing Tree, despite the fact that it had been dead for aeons.
Not only that, but after the first Albedo escaped Durin's stomach, he used the dragon's blood to create the Fellflower, a new lifeform. It's a Cryo Whopperflower with a lot of mutations.
