Genshin Impact Leaks: Yaoyao Leaks and basic information

New Genshin Impact leaks reveal Yaoyao, but it doesn't imply she'll be playable anytime soon. She has been mentioned in five different characters' voice lines and has previously appeared in official artwork, thus she isn't completely unknown to Genshin Impact players. Her name has been spelled Yao Yao in certain leaks, however, gamers should be aware that Yaoyao has also been used in some leaks. It's the same character in either case.

There have been suspicions that Yaoyao is a Dendro character, but no new leaks have confirmed this. Instead, there's just a short gameplay video and a few fresh photographs that might pique players' attention.

What players should know about Yaoyao in Genshin Impact (Leaks and basic information)

The video above shows Yaoyao in Genshin Impact during a gameplay leak. Lumie (the leaker) has already produced multiple reliable leaks, and this gameplay video is all new. It's only seven seconds long, and it doesn't include anything really interesting for gamers to find.

Nonetheless, it shows her sitting in a chair before fleeing. The same leaker also released some new Yaoyao screenshots.

The aforementioned tweet not only gives gamers more views of Yaoyao's design, but also speculates on her likely release date. It's not a leak that she'll be included in The Chasm, so players should keep in mind that it's all speculation for now.

This model has been in Genshin Impact from the beginning of the beta, therefore she may or may not be on a future banner in future releases. It's worth mentioning that, unlike some other new characters, she hasn't been released for any of Genshin Impact 2.4's banners (like Shenhe and Yun Jin).

What's officially known about Yaoyao?

Even though Yaoyao had no important role or appearance prior to this, the official Genshin Impact Twitter account tweeted the above photo (October 2020). These are the characters (as of Genshin Impact 2.3) who have a voice line referring to the unknown character:

• Beidou
• Ganyu
• Ningguang
• Qiqi
• Xiangling

According to Beidou's voice-over, Yaoyao enjoys playing on her ship, and it's difficult for Beidou and her crew to get rid of her due to her "puppy eyes." Ganyu's voice line, on the other hand, claims that she was tasked by the Ministry of Civil Affairs to keep an eye on Yaoyao.

Ningguang mentions how Ganyu is keeping an eye on Yaoyao, as well as how the latter has recently developed a taste for shellfish. Xiangling's voice line simply mentions Yaoyao's status as a fellow chef while sharing a humorous narrative about the two of them.
