UFC 269 Results: Amanda Nunes vs. Julianna Pena
Pena holds her hands high in the first round and fakes a few entries from range. Pena is swept to the ground by Nunes' low kick, but she does not follow. Nunes kicks low once more. Pena flings punches down the middle of the ring. Pena falls to the ground after Nunes swings back. Nunes waits a few moments before settling on top, but Pena manages to grab a hold of him. and then returns to the feet Nunes tosses her to the floor again. Pena climbs to the top and rotates to her hips, attempting to isolate the left arm. Nunes makes a U-turn and retreats to the back, looking for the choke.
Pena maintains a two-on-one advantage, as Nunes is unable to sink in the choke. Nunes twists once again, slipping out to the front and gaining control of the head. Nunes looks up and smiles at the fans. Nunes is unable to apply pressure to the neck, but she is in control of the posture. Pena again turns to her hips and attempts to isolate the left arm, but Nunes just keeps heavy on top and hits the body a bit. Nunes wins the round by a score of 10-9, according to MMA Junkie.
To begin Round 2, left hands were traded. Pena is faking the entries once more, but this time he isn't pressing the trigger. Nunes has a massive right hand that he misses. She lands on her left foot.
