Final Fantasy XIV: How to get the Flag minion

Minions are one of the many customization options in Final Fantasy XIV. Those small creatures follow your character around and interact with him in a variety of ways. Endwalker has added more minions, including the Flag, to the game. This minion is a little reindeer with a green collar and a bell, and it may accompany you on your excursions in the spirit of the Holiday season.

How to get the Flag minion in Final Fantasy XIV

You can unlock the Flag in one of two ways: by purchasing it on the market board or by earning it yourself. It's hidden behind Ventures, the travels where your retainers can be sent. When they return, they'll gain XP and deliver you random items.

Sending your retainer to Field Exploration XXVI will win you the Flag minion. Your retainer must have a gathering job and be at least level 81 with the appropriate equip to have this option enabled.

The simplest approach is to purchase the Flag minion, but because the minion was only recently launched, it will most certainly come at a high cost (at least three million gil) for a while. However, when more players acquire it in the next months, its price should drop.

If you haven't already, unlocking your retainers is critical for saving inventory space. You can have up to two retainers, each with a capacity of 175 items. To unlock them, finish the task "An Ill-Conceived Venture" with the Troubled Adventurer in one of Eorzea's major cities. To get them to level up and deliver your goods, you'll need to spend venture coins, but your level must match theirs. You won't be able to have the retainer reach level 81 if you don't have any gatherer jobs at that level, for example.
